5 Time Tested Home Remedies for Hair

By - Madhavi Sharma

Hair plays an important role in one's look. While baldness, gray hair, dandruff, dry and fragile hair steals all the beauty out of your face and personality, a healthy looking bouncing hair can magnify your overall look and personality. Out of your entire hair care regime, a little extra effort will help you to get you long, glossy and voluminous hair that a woman desires. Try these simple hair care tips:

Ø  Fuller’s earth (Multani Mitti) is one magical ingredient that has numerous benefits for your hair health. Be it dandruff, dry hair, hair fall or weak and fragile hair, this clay has the potential to take care of all of them.

Take a little piece of fuller’s earth and grind it to mix with some buttermilk or yogurt and make a paste. Apply and keep this paste to your hair and scalp for atleast 10 minutes before rinsing it off. This will not only remove the dandruff but reduce the hair fall and helps to make hair grow faster.

Ø  Olive oil, my favorite edible oil, along with other benefits to health and skin, shows wonderful effects upon applying on hair. Give a massage if you have dry frizzy hair. It softens, nourishes hair besides promoting the hair growth. Also read my article on using olive oil for nails.

Ø  If you know about the amazing nutrition that eggs provide, you will surely like to eat them but another great use of eggs is for hair. Applying egg white on hair is beneficial in almost every kind of hair problems, especially if you have dry and weak hair. Whisk an egg white and apply it to hair and let it remain for around 10 minutes before rinsing it off with COLD water.

Ø  One tested remedy for dandruff that I have tried many times is coconut oil and lemon juice. Warm a tablespoon of coconut water and squeeze a lemon into it. Apply this on your hair and scalp while taking bath. You can also replace coconut oil with mustard oil.

Ø  Neem leaves, a great remedy for skin infections, can also be used for scalp infections. A paste of neem leaves removes the hair lice and other from the root.

Last but not least, use pure natural oils like mustard oil, coconut oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, castor oil to give your hair and scalp a regular massage, atleast once a week.
